Satisfied Customer Spotlight: Tabletop Kingdom
For game enthusiasts, Tabletop Kingdom in Rotterdam, The Hague, and Haarlem is a top destination. “Our staff are all passionate gamers, so they can offer great advice, whether the customer is a beginner or someone with hundreds of games in their collection,” says Sjoerd de Nennie. “But we’re more than just a game store; we also build communities. We sell many lifestyle games, such as collectible card games and miniature games like the well-known Warhammer. We host events and tournaments in our stores to bring fans of these games together.”
Smart Features and Technical Expertise
Sjoerd, the Chief Digital Officer, explains, “This means I’m responsible for everything technical. I discovered StoreKeeper at a trade show and was immediately interested. They offered many new, smart features compared to other POS systems, like payment via QR code. Their technical expertise also made them a great partner for me as a tech person, very convenient. Plus, they could integrate with our webshop, which I built myself. So the choice for StoreKeeper was quickly made.”
Integrating with the Webshop
“The less you notice the integration, the better it is. This is certainly the case with the integration between our webshop and StoreKeeper,” Sjoerd continues. “Maintaining accurate inventory is crucial. We don’t want to sell products that aren’t in stock. Thanks to the integration, we can seamlessly sync products to our online store. Additionally, customers earn points with every purchase, whether they shop online or in-store, and these points are properly recorded.”
Sjoerd’s Top 9 Cool Features in StoreKeeper
Besides the webshop integration, Sjoerd is impressed by features that other POS systems lack and StoreKeeper offers. He’s even compiled a top 9 list of cool things in StoreKeeper. To start with, it’s very easy to set up a POS system. We often attend trade shows and events, where we can run everything from a laptop. Additionally, we can easily send payment requests via the system. When customers order games or related products that are not yet released, we register the order in StoreKeeper and immediately send a payment request. Once the payment and product are both in, we proceed with the next steps.
Processing Orders Efficiently
When a new product arrives and is logged into StoreKeeper, we get a notification if it’s been ordered. The dashboard shows exactly how many we need to keep in stock for customers. We immediately notify customers via email when their order is ready. This avoids having products in-store that are already sold. Before StoreKeeper, we used post-its and handwritten lists, which sometimes led to mistakes. Now, we avoid such issues and maintain a good image.
Returns, Credits, and Imports
The return function in StoreKeeper is excellent. We can mark products for return, allowing customers to exchange them for another product or a gift card. The dashboard clearly shows us and our accountant the returns made. Additionally, crediting web orders is straightforward. With a few clicks, the amount is refunded to the customer’s account. The import features are also extensive. We import products from suppliers with images, categories, and purchase prices. StoreKeeper’s formula automatically sets the selling price based on our preset preferences, such as rounding prices to .99. Importing data eliminates typos and saves us a lot of time. For one supplier alone, we save half a day per week thanks to StoreKeeper.
Gift Cards and Loyalty Cards
We use both gift cards and loyalty cards. We print the gift cards ourselves and can easily add them to StoreKeeper using a barcode. Loyalty cards are scanned and registered with the customer’s details in the system. Customers earn loyalty points with every purchase, which are automatically recorded. They can also add credit to their loyalty card to pay. StoreKeeper handles this seamlessly.
Balancing Quickly with an App
Previously, we used paper lists for balancing. After counting, we had to enter all data manually into the system. Now we balance with StoreKeeper’s app, which is incredibly fast and saves us a lot of time. In Haarlem, we reduced this task from 4 hours to 1.5 hours. Since our Den Haag store is open every day, minimizing the time spent balancing is crucial. The speed allows us to balance more frequently for an extra check.
Central Ordering and Internal Transport
Sjoerd’s last highlight involves central ordering and internal transport. “To save on shipping costs, we sometimes have products delivered to one of our locations and then distribute them to our stores. StoreKeeper supports this process. We can easily check products out from one location and check them into another via the app. This feature is also useful if a game is out of stock at one location. Our staff can check availability in other stores, transfer the game to the right location, and handle it efficiently.”
